Demo at 2nd GÉANT2 Technical Worshop
FlowMon probe was presented at the Second GÉANT2 Technical Workshop in Cambridge as a part of the security toolset that is being developed by the JRA2 activity.
The "Security Toolset in Action" took place on Wednesday, 14th June 2006. It was a presentation combined with a demo of the two relatively mature components of the toolset:
Christoph Graf, leader of JRA2, gave a general overview of the toolset and demonstrated typical usage scenarios for NetFlow data analysis and visualisation with the NFSen program.
Ladislav Lhotka presented the main features of the FlowMon probe and showed how the probe is operated and controlled.
The auditorium, consisting mainly of NREN security experts, positively received the session. Regarding the probe, the participants were especially interested in the per-collector filtering feature, future IPFIX support and also 10GE interface.
It was also decided to ask for including an appropriate amount of money in the Y3 GN2 equipment budget in order to provide interested partners - not only JRA2 - with the new version of the probe.
Both presentations are available here.
