FlowMon design for new COMBO cards
A new FlowMon firmware design is available for the COMBO6X motherboard and COMBO-4SFPRO interface card. It is able to process 2 million packets per second.
The new design is able to process data in both directions on a Gigabit Ethernet link. Compared to the previous version, performance was increased by
- doubling the clock speed to 100 MHz
- equipping the processing pipeline of each port with two header field extractors (HFE)
Each of the HFEs is able to process 500 thousand packets per seconds, i.e., 1 million packets/s on each port. The rest of the design is capable of 3 million packets/s
