IP Flow

What is it?

IP flow is a representation of what is commonly understood as an Internet connection. It is typically characterised by five key fields:

  • Source IP address
  • Destination IP address
  • Source port number
  • Destination port number
  • Layer 3 protocol, such as TCP, UDP or ICMP
